CARRIE TAYLOR
Carrie Taylor studied Fine Art at Harrogate College of Art and Illustration at Bradford Art College. Carrie Taylor was also taught painting by Jean Georges Simon, a French artist who was to become a major influence on Carrie Taylor's work. Simon was a close friend of Bourdelle and Modigliani when he was living and exhibiting in Paris as a young man.
Using mixed media Carrie Taylor paints intuitively, responding to the richness and the rough edged beauty to be found on the landscape of West Penwith. Carrie Taylor's painting are built with texture and layering in fluidity that reflects the ever-changing atmosphere and colours. A life long fascination with natural history is blended with her observations of hedgerows, woodland, moorland and rocks throughout the seasons.
Living in far West Penwith, Carrie Taylor exhibits locally.
